Cyber Threat Intelligence

Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) is the systematic collection, analysis, and dissemination of information regarding potential or existing cyber threats and adversaries to help the South African National Research and Education Network (SA NREN) constituents to anticipate, prevent, and respond to security incidents. It involves gathering data from multiple sources, processing it into actionable intelligence, and using it to strengthen cybersecurity defenses. CTI typically includes information on threat actors, their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), indicators of compromise (IoCs), and vulnerabilities, enabling the constituents of the SA NREN to make informed security decisions and enhance their resilience against cyber threats. By actioning CTI, SA NREN constituents can improve incident response times, mitigate risks, and strengthen their overall cybersecurity posture.

Key features:
  • Cost-effective offering of CTI provided to SA NREN constituents

  • Aggregate information from multiple CTI feeds(private and public), without any manual workflows

  • CTI alerts are directly shared with affected constituents, as well as additional supporting information

  • Compliment other scanning services

What we need:
  • 1. Permission to monitor - from the appropriate authority

  • 2. IP address range to monitor

  • 3. Security contact details - to inform of CTI alerts

What you gain:
  • 1. A deep understanding of current and emerging cyber threats

  • 2. Threat intelligence reports with actionable recommendations

  • 3. Insights into potential attack vectors and threat actor tactics

  • 4. Regular updates on threat landscape changes

  • 5. Support in integrating threat intelligence into your security strategy

  • 6. Collaboration with global threat intelligence sharing networks
